Maintenance of Memorial Ridge site has been ongoing. Volunteers have acquired a second canoe for placement of plaques and are in the process of restoring it for its intended purpose.

In 2025, the annual river clean up took place on Saturday July 5th. It was a great day. Not only did the weather co-operate but many volunteers attended and worked tirelessly to unload, sort and eradicate the garbage that came in. With the assistance of Hartley Bay Marina and their equipment, the job was complete in record time. A social gathering with food and refreshments followed with Pierre manning the barbeque.

In 2025, the annual general meeting took place on Thursday August 7th at French River Lodge. Many thanks for hosting once again. Draft minutes were distributed to the membership and will be reviewed during the 2026 annual meeting for approval.

Volunteers and the executive are working on a list of items to engage the junior rangers in. These youth volunteers have been assisting us in maintaining the Delta through the Youth Rangers Stewardship Program over the years. More docks appear as abandoned this spring and as a new canoe is being planned for Memorial Ridge, it is anticipated that assistance will be required to erect the canoe on a cement base.

Although we did not participate in the program during the 2025 season, in 2024 volunteers from the program along with the Delta Association volunteers worked on the board walk to Memorial Ridge, clearing debris from abandoned docks and eradicating phragmites along Hartley Bay Road. Plans for the 2026 season are underway

Clean up day 2026

The free week at the dump has been established for July 4 to 11, 2026. As July 4th is a holiday and the marina is expected to be busy, the planned date for this event is July 11th.

Annual General Meeting 2026

The annual meeting has been scheduled for the first Wednesday in August which falls on the fifth and it will take place at French River Lodge.
